The Third Vote - Your political voice

The StuPa - Project

What does 'StuPa' mean?

StuPa is an acronym for Studierenden-Parlament, which is the german word for student council. Within the scope of this project we are talking about the student council of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), that instructs the ASTA-KIT, the local student's union executive committee.

What is the "StuPa Project"?

In order to show the practicality of 'The Third Vote', an experiment in cooperation with the student council was performed. The election of the student body at the KIT was suitable for our concept because it was also similar to the german general election. Therefore the first vote was for the candidate and the second one for the student party. In addition to that, all parties had to answer political questions of the 'Stupa-O-Mat'. These questions and answers can be used to determine and analyze the political orientation and attitude of the parties and the voters.
The StuPa election took place from the 4th to the 8th of July 2016.
